The Violet Richardson Award:
The Violet Richardson Award recognizes and honors young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who make the community and world a better place through volunteer efforts such as: fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; and working to end discrimination and poverty. Volunteer actions that benefit women or girls are of particular interest. Contact us for application forms and more information.

Scholarship Programs:
“Scholarship Programs” – Our club gives yearly several scholarships to high school students, who not necessary are at the “top of their class”, but show strength in community service. We also provide incentives in community services by honoring intermediate school students with Savings Bonds. We also yearly give at least one (1) scholarship to a student attending Riverside Community College, Norco Campus through an endowment we established with the Soroptimist International of Norco club several years ago.

Making a Difference for Women Award:
The Making a Difference for Women Award acknowledges women who are working to improve the lives of women and girls through their personal or professional activities. Their efforts help to promote the issues that are important to the Soroptimist organization. Honorees are women who have worked in extraordinary ways to benefit women and girls. Examples of the type of work honored include: spearheading an effort to open a domestic violence shelter, working to secure health services for low-income women, starting a mentoring program for at-risk girls, or lobbing companies to provide on-site child care. The program enables local Soroptimist clubs and the Soroptimist organization to thank these women and encourage others to explore ways to assist women and girls. The program begins on the club level, where the type of recognition varies. Award winners at the club level are eligible for additional awards at other levels of the organization. The finalist receives a $5,000 donation to the charitable organization of her choice.
Inspire:
Inspire Life Skills Training, Inc. exists to mentor and train former foster youth
to become self sufficient, responsible, and to make positive life choices.
Foster youth who are "aging-out" of the system are vulnerable and have the odds stacked against them. They have histories of significant abuse, neglect, and multiple placements that greatly compromise their prospects for successful independence. These teenagers often find themselves instantly on their own with no financial resources, limited training or education, and no housing or support from family or the community. Without mentoring and motivation, most former foster kids find themselves homeless, pregnant or in jail. They are in need of life skills training and housing assistance as well as healthcare access, educational, vocational and employment guidance. By providing these services, Inspire seeks to assist former foster youth overcome their past and gain the skills and support to choose a positive and rewarding future.
